POP3 (Post Office Portocol) setup

POP3 setup
To set up a POP3 account in Microsoft Outlook find the ‘Tools’ menu in the menu bar at the top.


Click on ‘Tools’ and select ‘E-mail Accounts…’.
Click on ‘E-mail Accounts…’ and choose the ‘Add a new e-mail account’ radio button. Then click on 'Next >'.
Where you are asked for your sever type select the ‘POP3’ radio button and click on ‘Next >’.
Fill in your details. Under ‘User Information’ where it says ‘Your Name’ use the name you want people to see when you E-mail them. This can be anything you want. The ‘E-mail Address’ box obviously takes your E-mail address.

Under ‘Server Information’ in the ‘Incoming mail server (POP3)’ enter in “mail” followed by your domain name. For the ‘Outgoing mail server (SMTP)’ you will need to check with your Internet Service Provider.

Under ‘Logon Information’ we will give you a username and password.
Click on

Select the ‘Outgoing Server’ tab and check the box that says ‘My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication’.
Leave the ‘Use the same settings as my incoming mail server’ radio button as it is and click on ‘Ok’.
On the 'E-mail Accounts' page click on
When all the settings have tested successfully, click on ‘Close’. After that, click on ‘Next’. That will take you to the final page where all you need to do is click on ‘Finish’.

When you click on ‘Send and Receive’ you have been sent a test E-mail.
