Driving Targeted Traffic To Your Web Site

What about Yahoo?

With nearly 40% of search engine traffic, Yahoo is potentially a very important source of visitors to your site. When submitting to Yahoo, follow these guidelines:

  • Always submit your site manually, taking care to identify the correct Yahoo category for your content. A good way of doing this is to type in your chosen keywords and find out which category Yahoo places you in.

  • Identify an alternative category before you submit your site.

  • Follow Yahoo's submission guidelines to the letter.

  • Submit your site once. If you are unsuccessful, wait six weeks and resubmit. If unsuccessful after a third submission, contact Yahoo by e-mail, asking why you haven't been listed.

Please note that Yahoo.com has recently introduced an annual fee of US$299 for all commercial sites submitted to the directory. Yahoo UK & Northern Ireland currently charge a one-off fee of £199. This express submission service will get your site looked at within seven days. It does not however guarantee that your site will be included in the directory.
