Browser Compatibility

Until recently, building websites which displayed properly in all browser versions was relatively easy, as Internet Explorer was the main browser that people used.

In recent months, however, other browsers have started to have a significant market share, most notably Firefox 3.0 and Safari. In addition to that, certain clients also want their websites to display properly on PDAs and other hand-held devices, which needs specialist skills.

These days, cross-browser compatibility is a major issue. The most recent versions of Internet Explorer (6, 7 and 8) all display differently. FireFox has 20% of the search engine market and Safari is the preferred browser on Macintosh's.
